How to Troubleshoot Scanning on a Canon MX870

The Canon PIXMA MX870 is an all-in-one inkjet printer capable of printing, sending and receiving faxes, and scanning documents. Somewhere along the line during ownership, you may run into problems while scanning. Most of these problems can be solved by either altering scan settings or by proper maintenance of the scanner. By tweaking the appropriate settings, you can get your built-in scanner up and running again

· Check the printer. Make sure that the power cord is plugged in and that the printer is turned on. Make sure one end of the USB cable is firmly connected to the printer, and the other end is inserted into a working USB port on your computer.

Check the document you are attempting to scan. If you do not have a quality document to begin with, you cant expect much from the final product. Above all, make sure that the document you are attempting to scan isnt too faded. Light markings, such as pencil, can be difficult to scan properly.

Clean the glass of the scanner, along with the plastic plate above the scanner glass. Turn off and unplug your printer before cleaning, and then wipe down the scanner with a slightly damp, lint-free glass cleaning cloth. Make sure that the cleaned areas are completely dry before turning the printer back on.

Increase the resolution on the scanner. You can access the resolution settings in the "Scanning Resolution" dialog box, which can be found under the "Scan Settings" header. If your scanning resolution is low, your image may come out looking blocky and may appear out-of-focus.

Open the ScanGear tool on your computer. Click the "Preferences" button in the top-right corner of the window. Click the "Color Settings" tab. Normally, you should set the color settings to "Recommended." However, if the colors in your document are not scanning properly, try switching to the "Color Matching" setting.

Open the ScanGear tool on your computer. Open the "Advanced Mode" tab. From here, you can make more detailed changes to how your document is scanned. For example, if you are having a problem with dust and scratches appearing in your scanned document, alter the "Reduce Dust and Scratches" setting. Or, if stripes are appearing across your document, turn on Descreening.

Error code 5,155,55 , is a communication error between the scanner and the computer. This error could appears with Canon printer
Solution 1:

Power off and unplug the printer from the computer.
Uninstall the Canon software.
Restart the computer and download the last Canon driver
Install the driver and restart Windows
Reconnect the printer and switch it on.

Solution 2:

Check for the USB cable: it must be connected to the back of the printer.
Try another USB cable.

Solution 3:

Connect the USB cable on another USB port of the computer.

Solution 1:

Power on the printer.
Open the door for a few seconds and do a print job.

Solution 2:

Check for any piece of paper in the printer.
After checking, install the paper and push the "Black" or "Color" Button.

Solution 3:

Take a sheet of normal paper A4. fold it in two and still in two.
Power off the printer.
Insert the folded paper behind the printer.
Power on the printer. If there is a foreign object, it will be extrated by the folded paper.

How to solve error code 5400 on Canon printers

When you have error code 5400, the printer Canon flashes orange/green 6 times. This means there is an anormal internal temperature.

· Cancel printing and power off the device.

· Power on the device.

Indikasi Awal :

Ketika Canon MP237 dihidupkan, maka akan langsung muncul error P07 / E08 pada panel LCD nya. Dan apabila kita melakukan perintah print, maka dilayar monitor akan tampil " The Ink Absorber is Almost Full ". Cara Reset Canon Canon MP237 Error P07 dan E08

Hidupkan Printer Canon Canon MP237, maka di panel LCD nya akan muncul error P07 / E08, dan ada keterangan " The Ink Absorber is Almost Full " dilayar monitor anda.
Download Resetter Canon MP237 di LINK INI. Anda akan diarahkan ke iklan dulu, trus klik SKIP ADS/LEWATI.
Printer Canon Canon MP237 harus dalam keadaan SERVICE MODE. Caranya baca langkah berikutnya.
Matikan Canon Canon MP237 yang error P07 / E08 dengan menekan tombol POWERnya. Jangan cabut kabel power
Tekan dan Tahan tombol STOP/RESET diikuti dengan menekan Tombol POWER. Jadi kedua tombol posisi tertekan.
Lepas tombol STOP/RESET tapi jangan lepas tombol POWER.
Dalam keadaan tombol POWER masih tertekan, tekan tombol STOP/RESET sebanyak 6 kali.
Kemudian lepaskan kedua tombol bersamaan. Maka Canon Canon MP237 akan berada dalam kondisi Service Mode.
LCD Panel Canon MP237 akan blank / gelap dan di komputer anda akan mendeteksi hardware baru. Abaikan saja ...
Anda masih bersama ekohasan blog, Langkah selanjutnya Exctract dan Jalankan Service Tool 3400 hasil download anda tadi.
Di menu absorber Clear ink counter pilih Main kemudian klik SET di sebelah kanannya.
Di menu ink absorber counter pilih Main kemudian klik SET di sebelah kanannya.
Kemudian klik EEOPROM. maka printer akan cetak 1 halaman.
Printer Canon Canon MP237 yang error P07 / E08 akan normal kembali.

Banyak timbul pertanyaan, “apakah bisa office 2003 dan 2007 diinstal dalam 1 pc ?” jawabnya tentu bisa. Hanya saja setelah kedua office itu diinstal, timbul masalah, yaitu loading yang lama ketika kita ingin membuka Word 2003 setelah kita membuka word 2007, atau sebaliknya. nah hal ini bisa kita atasi dengan menambah kode di regedit-nya windows..

Nah gini caranya :
Setelah office 2003 dan 2007 terinstal, klik Start, RUN. Pada kotak dialog Run yang muncul,

ketikan perintah berikut ini:

reg add HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftOffice11.0WordOptions /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1

Tekan Enter lalu ketikan lagi perintah berikut ini:

reg add HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftOffice12.0WordOptions /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1

selesai… sekarang membuka word 2003 dan 2007 tidak bermasalah lagi.

Error code E000733 0001 on Canon IR2200

E733-0001 means a fault is detected by the main controller PCB in the communication between the DC controller PCB and the main controller PCB.

Main cause: The connector has poor connection. The DC controller PCB is faulty.

How to Solve Error P 7 P7 or P07 5B00 on Canon printers

Solution 1: If the device is not functioning properly or to clear memory, resetit.

On the operator panel, press the button. (The display will go blank.) Note: It may be necessary to unplug the power cord if pressing the ON button does not shut off the printer.
Wait approximately ten seconds and then press the button again.
Wait until the device has completed its cycling process before submitting another job request. Note: It may be necessary to unplug the power cord and retry if the above steps do not clear the error.

Solution 2:

Step 1: Entering Service Mode

While the printer is OFF, press and hold the Start/Stop button (Resume/Cancel in some other models).
While holding the Start/Stop button, press and hold the POWER button.
When the POWER LED (green light) lit, release the Start/Stop button (still holding the POWER button).
Press the Start/Stop button TWICE (still holding the POWER button)
Release the POWER button.
Wait for the LCD to display “0? (zero).

Step 2: Using Resetter / Software

Download Ressetter: http://www.ziddu.com/download/10241255/ServiceTool_1050.zip.html
Run “service_tool 1050.exe”.
Confirm detected USB-port numbers on USB port column.
Click “Main button” on Clear ink counter section. Make sure there are papers in the paper feed because the printer will print after the process is complete.
Click “platen button” on the “Clear ink counter” section. The printer will print again.
Turn off the printer and then turn the printer on. You printer is ready for use.
